An other Way war eine künstlerische Zusammenarbeit der Partner Aerial Dance Academy e.V. aus Hamburg, Deutschland, SenCirk in Dakar, Ndar Dance in St. Louis (beide Senegal) und Zwazo aus Paris, Frankreich. Das Ziel des Projekts war es, sich zu einer vergänglichen Kompanie zu vereinen. Ein Ensemble junger Künstler*innen  hat eine interdisziplinäre Performance am Rande zwischen Urban Dance und zeitgenössischem Zirkus zum Thema Wasser geschaffen.

Unsere beweglichen Körper bestehen größtenteils aus Wasser, genau auf die gleiche Weise. Wir trinken, waschen, schwimmen. Gezeiten und Überschwemmungen des Ozeans beeinflussen das Alltagsleben in St. Louis ebenso wie in Hamburg. Wir brauchen Regen, um unsere Nahrung anzubauen. Wasser verbindet uns, Wasser trennt uns. Wasser ist unser Thema, ebenso wie unsere Art, mit unseren kulturellen Unterschieden umzugehen, als etwas, das wir gemeinsam haben, aber auch als etwas, das die Unterschiede widerspiegelt, wie unsere unterschiedlichen Arten, mit Wasser umzugehen oder mit dessen Mangel.

An other way was  an artistic co-production of the partners Aerial Dance Academy e.V. from Hamburg, Germany, SenCirk in Dakar, Ndar Dance in St.Louis (both Senegal) and Zwazo from Paris, France. The aim of the project is to merge into an ephemeral company. An ensemble of young artists created an interdisciplinary performance at the edge between urban dance and contemporary circus on the topic of water.

Our moving bodies are mostly made of water, exactly in the same way. We drink, wash, swim. Tides and floods of the ocean affect the everyday life in St. Louis as well as in Hamburg. We need rain for growing our food. Water is connecting us, water is dividing us. Water is our topic, as well as our way of dealing with our cultural differences, as something which we have in common, but also as something which mirrors the differences, as our differing ways of dealing with water, or with the lack of it.
